Sustained flight of the Russian poultry

Russia continues to ramp up production of poultry meat.

In April 2013, the total volume of poultry meat produced by domestic poultry farms, stood at 290 thousand tonnes in carcass weight, which is 8.9% more than in April 2012. Are leaders in the growth of the Leningrad region (5.6 thousand tons deadweight), Stavropol Territory (5.1 tons) and Belgorod region (3.5 million tons).

Note that the total market for poultry meat in our country is also growing: in the first four months of 2013, it increased by 8.9% to 936,000 tons. The share of imported products within this volume has increased slightly - from 12.3% to 12.8%. At the end of 2012 the share of poultry meat in the structure of production in Russia was 41%.

The average level of prices for chicken meat in Russia continued its growth. According to the latest IAA "IMIT", last month the price of poultry meat produced in Russia strengthened by 1.0%, while the cost of imported products in the wholesale sector increased by 2.8%. At the same time, in a retail link, the average price of chicken meat in the last month increased by 1.5%.
