Russia is considering the abolition of preferences for the import of beef

Following the cancellation of preferential tariffs for the import of poultry and pork may make a similar decision on the beef.

This decision was announced by the agency "Prime" Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov.

Eurasian Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) in April of this year eliminated the pork, as well as meat and edible offal of poultry of the list of goods imported from developing and least developed countries and enjoying tariff preferences. Tariff preferences account for 0.75% of the rate of the Common Customs Tariff (CCT) for the products of developing countries, and 0% - for the products of the least developed countries.

«For the meat of bovine animals (such a decision) can be taken," - Fedorov said, stressing that the issue is being worked out. "It will be made in due course," - he added.

As noted earlier the Minister, the APC loses from a number of countries, tariff preferences, which focuses mainly on meat imports, 7.8 billion rubles a year.
