Negotiations were held Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergei Dankvert Polish Ambassador Wojciech Zayonchkovskaya.

V. Zayonchkovsky noticed that the second half of February 2014 supply of pork from Poland to Russia have been suspended due to the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF ) of boars in area, located near the border with Belarus. Most likely, he said , it was a wild boar, which went from shooting , led by the Belarusian veterinary service. Besides the two detections of diseased animals , 17 and 18 February , monitoring has detected no cases of wild boars . Veterinary Service of Poland prepared for Rosselkhoznadzor package materials , including monitoring data hogs and pigs on African swine fever , and a description of measures taken to prevent the spread of disease. S. Dankvert , based on the findings of Russian experts agreed that in Poland in relation to the ASF has developed extremely difficult and ambiguous situation . The fact that the spread of the disease in the wild is very difficult to assess with traditional monitoring. In addition, the European Commission directive on combating animal diseases are economic and very far from the real problems of biosafety . Their proposed measures are not equivalent to the measures taken in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. In these countries, only pork comes from areas not affected by outbreaks , and only large enterprises with a high level of biological protection . At this veterinary service should monitor the entire production chain - from getting piglets up to the finished product . In fact , Poland has become a hostage situation as a result of underestimating the risks from the European Commission . As a result , the causative agent of the disease was in the wild. Rosselkhoznadzor on his experience had difficulty controlling the spread of African swine fever among wild boars, which was due to the extremely non-constructive position of Ministry of Russia . In Poland, the same risks increase many times - Polish boar population is 400 thousand. How dangerous is the situation , time will tell - at least six months . Regionalization measures for ASF , the Commission's proposal are inadequate and ineffective, stressed S. Dankvert . According to Russian experts , the restrictions on the supply of pork products should be imposed on the Baltic countries and Poland. Products from this region should not be exported to other EU countries. In recent years, increased risks due to political instability in Ukraine , which may adversely affect the operation of the National Veterinary Service . At the same time , the supply of pork after regionalization could resume from countries and some federal states in Germany , far from outbreaks . The situation is complicated by the persistent failure of the Commission to enter the direct contact with the Board of the Eurasian Union . From the outset, the spread of African swine fever in Russia, said S. Dankvert Rosselkhoznadzor warned about the risks of the European Commission for the EU countries . Unfortunately, no action was taken. Last week, the European bodies veterinary experts participated in a special seminar on the fight against ASF held for them in subordinated Rosselkhoznadzor Federal Centre for Animal Health . Ready Rosselkhoznadzor and the continued active cooperation with the Polish veterinary service .
