carbon dioxide emitted during the combustion of fossil fuels is the main gas "human" origin affecting the climate, but the methane produced by living beings , has 20 times more powerful greenhouse effect. It accounts for nine percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States - and for the most part responsible 88 million cows living in the country .

American company C-Lock is working on the issue of reducing the volume of methane emitted cow that , in their opinion , can save from three to 15 percent of the energy consumed by animals with food. Company produces automatic feeding station , which is added to animal food , various additives , in particular , basil, to suppress generation of greenhouse gases . This unit also regularly measures the level of methane in the air exhaled animals . While the main problem with this technology - its price: the buyers of such animal food item will cost at least 45,000 dollars .

Each cow produces an average of about 250-300 liters of methane a day - and researchers from all over the world are trying to figure out how you can use this amount of the benefit .
