At a recent forum of small and medium-sized businesses in Chelyabinsk we talked about many problems of agriculture in the region - from training and maintenance to the army of young professionals to the "rural" tourism. However, when word got farmers themselves have highlighted a few other, more pressing concerns.
 - The problem is not so much the farmers get more money, how to provide for themselves and simply to survive - says Victor Litovchenko, Rector of the Ural State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
 - No farmers - there is no village. Farms need help, for example, in the construction of storage facilities. There is an acute problem with slaughtering. Now the farmers are not eligible to score in their livestock farms, if they want to sell the meat. This requires to drive the cattle to slaughterhouses special transport, which is very expensive, costing them a total of from three to seven thousand per head to the cost of transportation, veterinary services and slaughterhouses, which makes the production of meat in small-scale sector for sale completely unprofitable. Help in this matter would be the organization of mobile, mobile slaughterhouses.
 - The area is ready to support the establishment of mobile slaughterhouses as a project of collective use, if it will allow the South Urals villagers significantly reduce the production costs of meat - endorsed the initiative of the governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Boris Dubrovsky. Recall that after the entry into force of the territory of the Customs Union of new technical regulations received by the meat homestead slaughter may only be used for personal consumption. Slaughter of cattle, sheep and goats, and pigs to produce marketable products can only be done in specialized slaughterhouses equipped with all the veterinary and sanitary standards and under the supervision of accredited professionals. This measure is intended to guarantee the safety and quality of meat products.
According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the region now operates 122 stationary slaughterhouses whose services are no more than three thousand rubles per head of cattle slaughtered, and the requirements of the new technical regulation is not apply to poultry and small animals.
