Abstract. Functional products containing bioactive compounds of plant and animal origin are able to regulate metabolic reactions, restoring the body's system at various levels. The article discusses phytonutraceuticals, traditionally used in various countries for the correction of metabolic syndrome, as well as raw meat containing peptide and protein factors involved in metabolism. Herbal complexes, like animal extracts, are potential functional ingredients for the development of new types of functional nutrition to prevent metabolic syndrome, as well as as a component of complex therapy.
