Abstract. Data are presented on the crossing of Latvian White (LB) breed pigs with Landrace (L), Yorkshire (YOR) and Large White (KB) boars. The most effective in terms of growth rate of crossbreeds were boars of the Landrace and Yorkshire breeds. Feed consumption for weight gain decreased only in Landrace breeders. Crossing led to a decrease in the amount of fat in animals of the Latvian white breed by 6.76-8.16 mm, an increase in the cross-sectional area by 6.7-8.44 cm and an increase in carcass muscularity by 2.83-4.2%. The meat of all crossbreds tended to be tougher and with much lower moisture-binding capacity than that of Latvian white pigs. The effect of crossing on other quality indicators of these animals turned out to be less significant.
