Abstract. In accordance with the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, approved by Decree of the President of Russia dated February 28, 2024 No. 145, scientific research is needed in agriculture to ensure the transition to a highly productive and environmentally friendly agricultural sector. Organic animal husbandry includes the maintenance and breeding of animals in gentle, humane conditions close to natural ones and guarantees the production of environmentally friendly, safer meat products compared to traditional products. From this point of view, the prospects for the development of organic animal husbandry in the Republic of Buryatia, which is part of the Baikal region, are of great interest.
