FAO meat price index was unchanged in July

The price index for meat from the FAO in July remained more or less unchanged from the revised June level, on average, at the level of 173.3 points.

FAO reports that the prices of poultry meat and pork were lower, and the cost of beef and mutton increased.

In general, there are signs that the global meat prices will drop slightly with reductions in import demand, especially from Asian countries, reflecting the growth in domestic production and, in some cases, the build-up of stocks of meat of domestic production.
