index , which reflects the monthly change in international prices of major food basket of goods amounted to 201.8 points in August 2013 , that is down 4 points, or 1.9% , compared with the rate in July and by 11 points , or 5.1 % , as compared to August 2012 . p>
decline in the previous month was mainly a result of the continuous decline in international prices for grains and vegetable oils and fats . Prices for dairy and meat products , and sugar have risen slightly . P>
FAO price index for grain totaled 210.9 points in August , up 16.4 points ( or 7.2 % ) below the July figure and by 49.4 points, or 19 %, lower compared to the in August 2012 . p>

FAO price index for meat increased by 2.2 points (1.4 % ) compared to July levels and totaled 175 points . p>
