price growth for this type of meat in the first place helps to maintain the high level of demand and the relatively small amount of pork supply from abroad. Thus, according to the previous month the number of pigs in all categories of farms decreased by 0.2 % , while in the previous seven years in the period invariably marked increase in the number of animals. The declining trend in the number of pigs in the households aggravated the spread of African swine fever virus because of the vulnerability of this category of farms due to lack of proper level of biological containment .
