In the meat sector output growth remains

In January-August 2013 in agricultural enterprises of the Russian Federation has been sent to slaughter 5.26 million tons of livestock and poultry in live weight.

This figure is 11.6 % higher than last year's counterpart. The bulk of the production comes from a bird - 58 % or 3,036 tonnes in the first eight months of this year. The positive dynamics in this group relative to last year's figure for the same period is 6% or 178 thousand tons. The most significant growth we continue to see in the pig : the slaughter in January- August 2013 was sent to the 29% ( to 362 thousand tons ) more than the previous year , namely 1615 tonnes. Despite the fact that we are seeing an increase in the number of cattle sent to slaughter by 1% compared to last year , this positive trend is not talking about the normalization of the situation in the sector. The general trend to reduce the population continues on the market. Because of the high price of feed manufacturers actively send cattle to slaughter , so that we have the growth rate of cattle for slaughter compared to the previous year by 7.3 thousand tons to 585 thousand tons.

among federal districts of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District alone we have seen reduction in the general production of livestock and poultry , compared to last year . Thus, in January -August 2013 production amounted to 372 thousand tons against 435 thousand tons in the previous year ( 15% lower ) , which is a consequence of frequent outbreaks of ASF in the county. For all other districts of the positive dynamics . The bulk of production performance is concentrated in the Central Federal District - 42 % or 2,203 tons. For a year the county has increased production by 20 %.
