The European Commission has published a forecast for the development of the agricultural sector to the EU in 2023

high demand in the Middle East (especially Saudi Arabia ) and China will allow EU countries to increase exports poultry farmers. Experts say about this European Commission (report "Prospects for Agricultural Markets and Income in the EU 2013-2023").

Poultry production partially offset the decrease in availability of beef. Due to the rapid time feeding birds in the sector easier to attract investment. This allowed the poultry industry to develop rapidly , albeit on a smaller scale than previously . The growth of this sector in the years 2011-13 had a negative impact cost of feed and the overall situation in the economies of Europe .

With growing demand , exports of poultry from the EU grew significantly in 2010 (+24%) and 2011 ( 12 %) , respectively. In 2012 ( 2 %) and 2013 ( 1 %) 's high demand in Africa (especially South Africa and Benin) and the Middle East (especially Saudi Arabia ) coincided with a decrease in shipments to markets in Hong Kong and Russia .

Imports in 2012 was broadly in line with the previous year , but in 2013 it grew by 3.4 % due to the increased consumption of poultry meat in the markets of European countries. Increased shipments from Thailand (in July 2012 for this country opened quotas for raw poultry saline ), which offset the decline in shipments from Brazil ( Brazilian poultry on the background limit its production have focused on exports to Asian markets ) . In 2011 and 2013, due to the difficulties in the EU economy has slowed growth in consumption of poultry, and in 2012 the figures plummeted. Per capita consumption in the EU is 20-21 kg .

increase poultry production will complicate the relatively high cost of feed (although prices are down from the record and indicators 2011-12 period). However, of all kinds of meat , poultry production will increase most rapidly ( 0.8 % per year in 2012-23 years) experts believe. By 2023 it will be expected to 13.6 million tons .

Based on current projections , the high demand in the Middle East (especially Saudi Arabia ) and China will allow EU countries to increase exports of Poultry Farmers to 1.4 million tonnes in 2023 (+15%) . Will also increase exports to South Africa and Ghana. However, the increase in production in Russia will reduce supply to the market . Imports into the EU will fluctuate at the tariff quota ( 800 tons )

Annual total production of cereals in the EU is expected to increase from 304.3 million tons in 2013 to 316.1 million tons in 2023 . Meat production in the period increased from 43.7 million tons to 45.5 million tons .

In general producers of grain , meat and milk production in the EU will benefit from the growing global demand . According to the Food and Agriculture (FAO) , the EU accounts for 20 % of world production of wheat and pork and cheese exports accounting for 30% of export shipments of this product on the world market .

Prices of agricultural products are expected to be stable in the medium term , which will be associated with an increase in global demand , the development of biofuel production and low productivity growth of agricultural production , according to experts of the European Commission .
