«We can introduce a ban on the import of pork from Brazil and Canada due to the fact that the laboratory monitoring of incoming RF parties reveal pork ractopamine. The situation is quite serious, as we have with veterinary services in these countries signed bilateral obligations, "- told RIA Novosti Russian Assistant Minister Alexei Alexeenko.

Rosselhoznadzor from December 2012 in Russia restricted imports of meat from Brazil, Canada, United States and Mexico because of the presence in meat banned stimulant - ractopamine. It is used in animal husbandry to build muscle animals. This additive is banned in 160 countries, including the countries of the European Union and the TC. Later delivery

with some enterprises were restored under warranty veterinary services in these countries. According to information on the site of Rosselkhoznadzor currently entitled to supply pork from Canada are 11 companies (out of 36 accredited), from Brazil - eight (out of 22).
