Russia may ban import of pork from Canada and Brazil

Rosselkhoznadzor may impose a ban on pork imports from Brazil and Canada in connection with the continuing discovery in her growth stimulator - ractopamine.

«We can introduce a ban on the import of pork from Brazil and Canada due to the fact that the laboratory monitoring of incoming RF parties reveal pork ractopamine. The situation is quite serious, as we have with veterinary services in these countries signed bilateral obligations, "- told RIA Novosti Russian Assistant Minister Alexei Alexeenko.

Rosselhoznadzor from December 2012 in Russia restricted imports of meat from Brazil, Canada, United States and Mexico because of the presence in meat banned stimulant - ractopamine.
