In Russia, the labeling of GMO products will be mandatory

The Russian government has introduced to the State Duma a bill according to which producers of goods that did not indicate the presence of a part of its production of genetically modified components will be imposed substantial fines.

It is possible that the initiative will spread as a whole for all products, which was produced using GMOs in any form.

In general, we are talking about the need for labeling of meat products that have been grown with the use of genetically modified feed components as earlier labeling of such products in the bill has not been spelled out.

The amounts of fines provided for mislabelling or lack of it, range from 20 to 150 thousand. rubles.
