German meat industry is losing its positions

Abstract. The sales volume of the German meat industry in 2021 amounted to 40.6 billion euros. This was recently reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). According to the data presented for the slaughter and meat processing industry, sales in this sector have declined markedly, while employment has increased.
